Climate of Arunachal Pradesh
The climate of Arunachal Pradesh varies with the altitude. The southern part of the state has hot and humid sub-tropical climate. The central region is cooler while there is alpine climate in the higher altitudes. Rainfall is uneven and continues throughout the year. The wettest periods are the months from May to September. Mid September to mid December and mid March to mid June is considered the best time to visit Arunachal when the sky is clear and the cold weather is bearable.
The climate of Arunachal Pradesh differs with the elevation. Areas that are at a very high elevation in the Upper Himalayas close to the Tibetan border. Upper Himalayas are the Middle Himalayas, where people experience a climate which is temperate. Areas at the sub-Himalayan and sea-level elevation generally experience a humid sub-tropical climate, along with the hot summers and mild winters.
Arunchal Pradesh receives heavy rainfall of 80 to 160 inches (2,000 to 4,000 mm) annually, most of it between May and September.
History Arunachal Pradesh
History of Arunachal Pradesh goes back to hundreds of years into mists of tradition and myth. The history, which is recorded can be traced only when Ahom kings began to rule Assam in the 16th century AD. The British took possession of Assam in year 1838. After independence, it was part of the North East Frontier Agency and later a Union Territory. On 20th February, 1987 Arunachal Pradesh was mad a full fledged state.
