History
Himachal Pradesh became a part C state on 26th January 1950 and a Union Territory on 1st November, 1956. In between, Bilaspur was made a part of it in 1950. Kangra and other hill states were merged into the Union territory of Himachal Pradesh in the year 1966. Finally, four years later, in 1970, through the State of Himachal Pradesh Act, Himachal Pradesh became the eighteenth state of India.
Climate of Himachal Pradesh
The Himachal Pradesh climate is depends on the altitude, varies at different places from semi tropical to semi arctic. The year can be roughly divided into 3 seasons. The hot season spans the months of March to June, the rainy season spans the months of July to September and the cold season occupies the months of October to February. Winters are very severe and heavy snowfall

Mid-May to Mid-October is the best time to visit. The weather is mild and days are long, ideal for mountaineering or enjoying an idyllic nature walk.
